Britt Defends Foreign Aid Package Support

Sen. Katie Britt is defending her support for the controversial foreign aid bill. The $95-billion dollar measure includes $60-billion in new funding for Ukraine. Sen. Britt called the measure "imperfect," but contends it also includes funds for Israel, and removes Chinese Communist Party control of Tik Tok by forcing a sale of the platform. Britt also cited provisions to combat the fentanyl crisis and restricting Iran's ability to finance terrorism. Sen. Tommy Tuberville opposed the package, saying money for Ukraine is going into a "black hole with no accountability." The Senate approved the package 79-18, and sent it to President Biden who quickly signed it into law.
