University of Alabama Pays Tribute to Fallen Policeman

The University of Alabama planned to publicly honor a fallen Tuscaloosa policeman, officials announced Wednesday. The University said that Bryant-Denny Stadium would be illuminated in blue on Wednesday night in honor of murdered Officer Dornell Cousette, 40. His patrol car will be parked at the Walk of Champions through Friday morning, so people can pay respects, and leave remembrances. Cousette was shot to death while trying to arrest a suspect this week. Luther Watkins is charged with capital murder. Cousette, a 13-year veteran of the force, leaves behind two children and a fiancee.

Visitation will be from 10-11:30 AM Sunday at Shelton State Community College. The funeral service will follow at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Aliceville.
