Workers Killed in Hoover Trench Collapse

Two workers were killed in Hoover Tuesday after a trench collapsed, authorities said. Two men were working on a drainage system on Twin Pine Circle when the ground caved in. Hoover fire captain Scott West says the call came in shortly after 3 p.m., and rescuers worked for more than two hours before learning that the men were dead. "It's tough, any time we have a situation like this, and especially when you work so hard, to try to rescue them, and this is not the result we were hoping for," West said. The workers were employed by Water Drainage Solutions. The victims' names were being withheld, pending notification of family. OSHA is investigating.
