The annual lighting of the Christmas Tree outside Hoover’s city hall has been postponed due at least in part to threats of protests.  Following the death of Emantic Bradford Jr. Regular protests have been occurring in the same area regularly.

In a statement from the city of Hoover, the tree lighting will be postponed out of a respect for loss of life.  The statement goes on to offer thoughts and prayers to Bradford’s family and hope of community healing.

At this time, Hoover has not announced a new time for the lighting.
