Computer Problem Blamed for Fireworks Stumble

Spectators of the annual "Thunder on the Mountain" Fourth of July fireworks spectacular knew  things did not go according to plan Tuesday night.  The show, which began late, was plagued by awkward pauses, and fireworks that were clearly out of sync with the music.  Some people left early, thinking the show was over, only to learn later that they missed the finale.  Danny Turner with Pyro Shows of Alabama blames it on a "computer glitch."  He said the entire show did fire, but it was not synced to the music.  Turner says the company is "disappointed," adding that the show did not meet the company's standards.     Vulcan Park officials  say corrections will be made to prevent a repeat next year.
