Aruban Prosecutors Eye van der Sloot Case

Aruban prosecutors say the Natalee Holloway case remains an open investigation. Authorities on the island have asked the Justice Department to send all records from the extortion and wire fraud case against Joran van der Sloot. The Dutchman -- as part of a plea deal-- confessed to killing the missing Mountain Brook teenager in 2005, and disposing of her body. A spokeswoman for the Aruban prosecutor's office would not rule out future charges for van der Sloot, saying investigators intend to review the records "before deciding on the next steps." Regarding Aruba's 12-year statute of limitations for murder, a spokeswoman said "that depends on several factors within the investigation."
