Gov. Ivey Deploys Guardsmen to the Border

Gov. Kay Ivey Thursday announced she will deploy 275 National Guardsmen to the Southern border. "Every state has become a border state under the [Biden administration] policies," Ivey said. She says Alabama remains committed to being an integral part of the mission to protect our Southern border. The governor's announcement came as President Biden broke a campaign promise not to build more of the border wall begun under former President Trump. The Department of Homeland Security said the administration is waiving 26 federal laws for wall construction in South Texas due to "high illegal entry."
