Vestavia Fire Better Equipped for Flooding Issues

Flooding has been an issue in Vestavia Hills when heavy rains fall. Now, the fire department has received a $5,000 grant to pay for water rescue equipment. Every fire truck will be equipped with safety vests and helmets for first responders. Also, vests are available for adult as well as child victims along with throw bags. Officials say this will cut down on response time, as they can go into action before swift water rescue teams arrive on the scene.
