Pair Charged in Birmingham Couple's Murder

A couple captured in south Florida has been charged with a Birmingham double murder, the police announced Tuesday night.   Zachary Phillips, 23, and Kristin Gullion, 30, fatally stabbed 68-year old Steve Holt and his wife Mary, 67, whose bodies found this month at their home on Ninth Court Circle South, detectives said.  The suspects committed the murders in the course of a burglary, investigators said.  Police were led to the bloody crime scene by a child, covered in blood, calling for her grandparents.  The major break in the case came last Thursday, when a police officer in Miami Beach, Fla. spotted an illegally parked car.  It turned out to be the Holts' vehicle, and Gullion was driving it, police said.  A day later, police in Hollywood, Fla. arrested Phillips in a separate stolen car case.    Phillips and Gullion, who hail from north Alabama, will be extradited to Birmingham soon, authorities said.
