One Defendant Dismissed Former State CIO Lawsuit

Three former state officials sued, now down to two as former Alabama Law Enforcement Agency General Counsel Michael Robinson is covered by state immunity, according to the judge. Disgraced former Governor Robert Bentley and former ALEA Secretary Stan Stabler remain defendants in the lawsuit filed by James Nolen. He accuses them of conspiring to end his career after he pulled emails from state servers for a grand jury subpoena. Nolen, the former Chief Information Officer for the State Department of Finance, claims the defendants falsely accused him of illegally accessing the information, even though he had the authority to do so.
