Air Quality Alert in Birmingham

A "code orange" air quality alert was issued for Wednesday in Jefferson and Shelby counties.  Elevated levels of ozone could cause problems for people in sensitive groups, including those with respiratory conditions.    Alabama Partners for Clean Air advises limiting driving and engine idling, and encouraged carpooling.  Other suggestions include postponing lawn mowing, and waiting until after 6 PM to refuel vehicles.
