State Lifts Margarita Ban

Looks like you'll be able to go to Margaritaville, after all.   The Alabama ABC board Thursday quickly reversed a ban on the sale of mixed drinks in pitchers.    The ban was imposed after ABC lawyers determined state law prohibited the sale of mixed drinks that are adulterated.   The state found that Margaritas sold in pitchers were illegal because of the way the alcohol settles in the pitcher, causing each glass to have a different amount of alcohol.    Establishments that sell the drinks pleaded with the board to reconsider, which it did.    The ABC board says  mixed drinks, like Margaritas, may be sold in pitchers, if they are normally sold that way.
